Delo kompleksno predstavlja grič, ki so ga v drugi polovici 19. stoletja poimenovali Piramida. Na njem je bil sredi 12. stoletja zgrajen grad, ki se ga prvič omenja v listini iz leta 1164. Pod gričem je zatem začelo nastajati naselje, leta 1254 prvič omenjeno kot mesto. Knjiga je poklon Mariboru ob letošnji 850-letnici prve omembe gradu na Piramidi, po katerem je mesto dobilo ime. Besedila so prispevali zgodovinar dr. Tone Ravnikar, publicist Primož Premzl, arheologinja Mateja Ravnik, zgodovinar Andrej Gulič, Vid Kmetič ter arhivistka Mojca Horvat in Andrej Gulič.

Nekaj mesecev po zaprtju razstave je v založništvu Umetniškega kabineta Primož Premzl in v sodelovanju z Zavodom Maribor 2012 Evropska prestolnica kulture in Pokrajinskim arhivom Maribor izšel še katalog. Katalog prinaša besedila z razstave v celoti, pa tudi velik del tam prikazanega slikovnega gradiva. Izšel je v dveh knjigah – v slovenski in nemški inačici – vsakokrat na 240 straneh velikega formata. Osrednji prostor pa je, podobno kot na razstavi, namenjen t. i. poglobljenim pogledom – poglavju, katerega vsebina je osredotočena na posamične fenomene, osebnosti, zgradbe, dogodke, ustvarjalnost, pa tudi na vsakdanje življenje Mariborčanov v stoletju, ko se je porajala nacionalna zavest v modernem pomenu ter v političnem in javnem življenju vse bolj rasla na eni strani v ustvarjalnost, na drugi strani pa v nacionalna nasprotja. Tako razstava kot katalog umeščata dogajanje in življenjski utrip Maribora v ta neizbežen kontekst. Katalog, pri katerem je sodelovalo veliko avtorjev, je dolgo pričakovana in nepogrešljiva nadgradnja razstave Nemci in Maribor.

Toda vsaj za enega človeka je bil tisti ponedeljek nesporno pomemben: Wilhelm Joseph Franz Seraph Gabriel von tegetthoff je vstopil v beneški Mornariški kadetski kolegij ter se ta posvetil zaželenemu poklicu, s katerim se bo osebno vpisal v svetovno zgodovino.
